Building Resilience:

An ESG Strategy for Mitigating Anti-Social Risks

An ESG strategy for mitigating anti-social risks is crucial for corporates to protect their reputation, maintain the trust of stakeholders, and to increase sustainable and ethical productivity.

Anti-social risks that conflict with corporate policies should and need to be sensed early and resolved promptly.  For effectiveness this means everyone is and should be responsible.

At Df2020, we apply Swarm Intelligence to the collective behaviour of individuals within an organisation to solve complex social problems. Using Swarm Intelligence, enables the interaction with a large group of individuals for the identification of anti-social risks.

Corporations control the policy rules, narrative and nuances required for individuals to identify risks.  The advantage of Swarm Intelligence is that it bypasses undue peer group pressure or hierarchical influences from people with vested interests and that are not aligned with corporate policy.

Using Swarm Intelligence enables rapid and flexible interactions with individuals at scale. The data generated provides the collective behaviour of individuals in the workplace, so that any emergent risks are identified.  An audit trail of the interactions with each individual is stored as part of their compliance record.

Swarm Intelligence can be configured for any type of anti-social risk such as bullying, misogyny, or racism. It can identify issues related to working practices that have been suppressed such as miscommunication, mismanagement, misunderstanding and misrepresentation.

Swarm Intelligence can be easily scaled up or down enabling the corporation to control and target groups holistically or in any appropriate combination. It can also be extended to willing suppliers and partners.  Corporations can enrich or extend their policies at any time, especially based on insights gained from the emergent evidence generated.

In summary, Swarm Intelligence empowers a corporate to sense early, and respond promptly and effectively to emergent social risks that would be difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional methods. The socioeconomic benefits are wide-ranging and tangible.
